Noveber and December 2020

Between November 9, 2020 and December 10, 2020 the Malvern High School JAG program hosted the 2nd annual Hillcrest Children’s Home Toy Drive. Due to the Covid visitor restriction, JAG partnered with Tractor Supply Co. and employees of Arkansas Workforce Center to collect toys this holiday season for Hillcrest. Together we made Christmas a little merrier for the local youth. Employees of Arkansas Workforce Center includes: Arkansas Division of Workforce Services, ASU Three Rivers Adult Education, West Central Arkansas Planning& Development District 

In October The JAG students decided to apply for the $500 L.O.V.E. Project: Lifting Our Voices for Equity Grant to support their care package project for the Hot Spring CountyHomeless Coalition, HSCHC. MHS JAG was awarded the grant in November 2020. The Students purchased the supplies needed to complete the project. Those care packages were supplied to the HSCHC on December 16, 2020.

October 2020

 In October the JAG students participated in the first annual Trunk or Treat event, presented by Malvern Cruse Nite. We Collected over 5,000 pieces of candy to distribute during the event

January 2020

Congradulation MHS JAG! Your Care Package Donors Choose Project is fully funded. Care Packages will be delivered to a variety of community resources centers across Malvern, AR. 

 

November and December 2019

Donors Choose Project

Help me give my students necessary supplies to make 100 care packages for local homeless people. The packages will include winter beanies, socks, rain ponchos, and more. We created a request for my classroom at DonorsChoose.org titled Care Packages at www.donorschoose.org/MalvernJAG. Please consider donating.
 

Winter Toy Drive

The JAG students will be hosing a Hillcrest Toy Drive. The JAG students will collect new toys to be donated to Hillcrest Childrens Home located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The toy drive will start the first week of November and run through the second week of December. All donated items must be new. A list of suggested items are located on the back of this sheet.

October 2019

JAG students have two activities schedule on Halloween

  • From 9:15 AM – 11:15 AM the JAG students will go to MES to make pumpkin paper bags with the 3rd grade students. The students must also have a C or better in all classes and can not have more than 3 unexcused absences.
  • That same evening from 4:30 – 6:30 PM, MHS JAG will participate in the Trick or Treat on Main Street event. JAG students will have the opportunity to earn two volunteer hours during this event. Remember, all JAG students need ten volunteer hours by May 2020.  Trick or Treat on Main Street is hosted by the Hot Spring County Library.

 

JAG is asking for candy donations. If you would like to donate bags of candy, please drop them off at MHS front office.
