Instructional Specialist
I graduated from John A. Rowland High School in Rowland Heights, California in 1987. I moved to Malvern, Arkansas in 1997 and continued my education at Ouachita Community College where I graduated and transferred to the University of Arkansas in Little Rock on a transfer scholarship. I graduated with a Bachelors in Education and then went to Arkansas State to get my Masters in Special Education 4-12.
I have a bachelors degree from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and a masters degree from Arkansas State.
This is my 6th year at Malvern High School. I have co-taught with the English, science and math departments. I am currently just co-teaching algebra 1, geometry as well as teaching two math enrichment classes this upcoming 2016-2017 school year.
I have always been involved in the teaching profession in some fashion or other. I have taught mothers day out, preschool, and pre-K in private schools. I could not imagine not being a teacher.
I have been married for 25 wonderful years to Sgt. Mark Korsmeier and have two grown children. Both my children have followed in their dad's footsteps to serve in the military in one fashion or another. My daughter lives out of state with her husband and is going to college to get her degree in medical lab technician. My son lives in state and is currently working as a mechanic as well as being in the Army National Guard.
I am always doing something with my family, they are the most important thing in my life. We love to travel and enjoy our time with each other. I also love to read, paint and crochet in my free time.
